THE RM OF DUFFERIN #190 AND THE VILLAGE OF BETHUNE

have lifted the Total Fire Ban for the respective municipalities.

Although the Fire Ban is currently being lifted, please be mindful of any outdoor burning that you may be contemplating.

Rural Agriculture producers please remember to contact the Rural Fire Call Centre at 1-866-404-4911, if you are planning any controlled burns.

This notice is only pertains to the RM of Dufferin #190 and Village of Bethune. Other neighboring municipalities may still have Fire Bans in effect.

Bethune United Church Rental

Bethune United Church is available to rent on a regular basis or for the occasional meeting or event.

Fees are:  Sanctuary $60/day; Basement $50/day; Kitchen $25/day.

Total Fire Ban at the Village of Bethune and RM of Dufferin 190

RATEPAYERS OF THE RM OF DUFFERIN AND VILLAGE OF BETHUNE

EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY – TOTAL FIRE BAN –

The RM of Dufferin and Village of Bethune are implementing a TOTAL FIRE BAN in both municipalities effective immediately.

Burning of any type of combustible materials is now prohibited until further notice. This does not include natural gas or propane fueled barbeque or fire pit apparatus. Fines under the Fire Ban bylaw for unlawful burning during a Fire Ban Notice start at $500.00.

Conditions in the RM of Dufferin and Village of Bethune are extremely dry and weather forecasts for the next week to ten days advise of continued dry and hot conditions.

Public Notice

Please be advised that the Fire Ban for the municipalities has now been lifted.

Please remain mindful, if you are burning or having recreational fires, that recent rains have been spotty and that some dry conditions still remain in the RM of Dufferin #190. Take every precaution while burning activities occur.

RM of Dufferin #190 ratepayers are reminded that, if you are burning stubble or brush, you are required to phone your controlled burn into the provincial call centre at 1-866-404-4911.

You are kindly advised that, if extended periods of dry conditions re-occur, the Municipalities will again consider fire ban implementation, if necessary.
